About

Growing up, I never imagined I’d end up here. For a long time, I lacked the confidence to see where I wanted to go, but one decision after another led me to where I am today. Now, with a stronger sense of purpose, I know my goal has always been to become a Software Engineer.

It took me a long time to reach this point. I was lost, confused, and never had the chance to be my own guiding star. Choosing this path was my decision alone, and now it’s my job alone to face the good, the bad, and the ugly that come with it. No more short cuts, no more half-done work.

Without a degree, the road’s been tough. Volunteering and doing side projects helped, but I knew it wasn’t enough — I wasn’t fully committed. To change that, I’m now studying at George Brown College in their Transition to Post-Secondary Education program to prepare myself for university and get my degree in Software Engineering.

I didn’t find this path alone. Thanks to the support of COSTI, they shared valuable resources, helped me build confidence, and guided me through this career transition. Now, with a clearer head and renewed focus, my goal is to keep pushing forward, earn my degree, and finally call myself a Software Engineer.

From there, I hope to land an internship where I can keep growing and contribute meaningfully to real projects, then transition into a full-time role and call myself a professional.
